Happy Earth Day
Happy Earth Day to all of our readers at D&D Design
Tip for the day: Recycling
Being that it is Earth Day we are going to write about the importance of recycling. We can all be proactive and one of the easiest ways is to log onto your computer and go to your city’s Department of Public Works website. Your city will have its own set of policies regarding recycling. The most important things to find out are:
- How to get a recycling bin (if you dont have one.) Most cities will provide one if asked.
- What recyclable items are accepted.
- Which numbers of plastics are accepted.
Generally speaking, this is what you can and should put in your recycling bin:
* All clean paper (magazines, newspapers, and junk mail)
* Clean aluminum (rinse out all your cans and toss them in)
* Only plastic with number 1 or 2 in the chasing arrow (water bottles should have lid taken off them). As every municipaltiy varies in which numbers they accept, call 1=800-CLEANUP and simply enter your zipcode.
* All glass, including green glass, wine and beer bottles.
If for some reason your city does not provide recycling bins or a recycling service, many large grocery stores now have recycling centers outside. You can also go to www.bottlesands.com and type in your zip code to find the nearest center. Happy Recycling!
Enjoy!
